Within my practice the concept of identity is explored specifically focusing on British identity and what constitutes as British. My work incorporates design and print in an attempt to get the public to question their notion of Britishness. The design has been constructed through the merging of the coat of arms, from countries once part of the Empire, with the paisley pattern. Through this the themes of identity, appropriation and cultural identity are questioned. From our history an identity has been established in Britain where by race, culture and religion can not define British identity.
